Description
A large left riding boot crafted from black tarred leather (”jacked leather”), featuring an ankle cuff and iron spurs. The forward-leaning, rigid shape of the boot was designed to protect the rider but was unsuitable for walking. This exceptionally well-preserved piece is a rare example of 17th and 18th-century military equipment.
