Pair of contemporary Gustavian style commodes, handcrafted in Europe. Each three-drawer chest stands on tapered square legs and features chamfered corners adorned with finely carved rosettes. A dentil frieze runs beneath the slightly molded top, while horizontal moldings provide visual definition to the sides of each case. The surfaces have been hand-painted using traditional decorative painting techniques and finished with an expertly antiqued patina, giving the pieces the appearance and character of authentic Swedish Gustavian furniture.
