Sandstone Sculpture of the Virgin Mary, 19th Century

Sandstone sculpture of the Virgin Mary wearing a crown and holding the Christ Child in her arms. She stands upon the globe with a crescent moon and the serpent holding the apple of knowledge in its mouth. The base is simply molded. The sculpture retains traces of its original polychromy, shows minor chips and old restorations. The reverse is roughly worked and fitted with an iron ring.
